Epuron Develops French Windfarms

Conergy Group Press Release - Germany

Jan. 29, 2007

EPURON expands its international activities in the wind power sector. The company will kick off the new year with the development of two wind farms with a total output power of 16 Megawatts in Southern Brittany. The projects will be managed by the French subsidiary of EPURON based in Paris.  The construction of both sites will commence in February.

By mid-2007, four REpower MM82 wind turbines will be installed in the Derval and Lusanger regions. The infrastructural development will be entrusted to the experts of ABO Wind AG. With over 80 metres in diameter, the rotors will produce around 33 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This electrical power is sufficient to run some 9,400 households saving about 24,750 tons of environmentally harmful greenhouse gases.

"There is an increasing interest among institutional investors in wind power projects in France. This stems from their exceptional investment opportunities. We are catering to this market by developing projects that allow us to assemble attractive financing packages“, says Joachim Mueller, member of the Managing Board at EPURON who is responsible for finance and wind power.

EPURON has been operating in the wind power sector since 2001 and has already implemented projects with a total capacity of over 215 Megawatts. Last year, construction began of its first wind farm in Italy. In addition to the projects already completed, EPURON has short to mid-term projects with a total capacity of around 673 Megawatts in its pipeline. In 2006, sales from the wind power segment accounted for over 55 percent of the company's total revenue.
